Why do I have to complete a health profile? Details of your medical history are important so our medical professionals can interpret your blood test results, e.g. if you have diabetes then this will increase certain risk factors when interpreting your cholesterol results. Do I have to disclose any medications or supplements I’m taking? Certain medications you are taking (e.g. hormone supplements or protein shakes) may impact your blood test results and if you don't disclose these to us we won't be able to provide accurate interpretation and advice. Any information you share with us is strictly confidential and managed in accordance with our privacy policy. Will you share my information with anyone? Your information is managed in accordance with the Data Protection Principles using the latest encryption technologies. We are committed to protecting your personal information and only share your data with our medical professionals who review your results within our platform. Refer to our privacy policy for more information. Why do you need my mobile number? If we're unable to contact you by email to discuss your test results, or if we need to follow up with you urgently, it's important that we have your mobile number.

Can I use healthily instead of going to my GP? healthily doesn't replace advice from your usual healthcare providers. Our service is designed to supplement the care you would receive from your GP or other allied health professionals rather than replace it. I am under 18, can I buy a test? We're afraid not. healthily is only available for those aged 18 years and over. I am not a UK resident, can I buy a blood test? Yes definitely. Our services are available to both residents and non-residents. However, additional shipping charges will apply to customers outside the UK/ Northern Ireland. Are there any additional costs not included in the price listed on your website? No, there are no hidden costs and the price on our website represents the total price for our tests based on kit delivery or blood collection to a UK/ Northern Ireland address. No VAT is applicable for our services. For delivery to an international address outside these locations, please purchase the additional international shipping fee for your order to be processed. Which tests are available internationally? We offer a variety of tests that can be shipped internationally. However, please ensure you check any regulations and policies in your respective country before ordering, as these are subject to change. In order to qualify for a Medicare funded blood test from your GP you will need to meet certain health criteria. The public system typically funds pathology services for patients who are already symptomatic or at high risk or developing a specific health condition. Your GP will be able to provide you with further information. Can I have my blood tested whilst I’m pregnant or breastfeeding? Yes you can. Please remember to disclose these facts in your health profile as if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, this may impact the interpretation of your blood test results. Does my pathology form expire? Pathology forms are valid for 6 months from the purchase date. Please contact us if you need an extension.

How accurate are your tests? Your samples are analysed by CPA accredited pathology laboratories throughout the UK meaning you can be confident of reliable results. How long do I have to wait for my results? Depending on which blood tests you have taken, results may be available as soon as the following day after the lab receives your sample. More specialised tests may take longer for the pathology lab to turn around. If you haven't received your results within 2 days of returning your sample, please contact us. Is my data secure? Your information is managed in accordance with the Data Protection Principles using the latest encryption technologies. We are committed to protecting your personal information and only share your data with our medical professionals who review your results within our platform. Can I see results from my previous tests online? Yes, if you purchased a standard check from our website, you will be able to view your previous test results online. If you have previous test results from a test you didn't purchase through healthily, we can upload these into your personal dasbhoard for you - find out how Upload Test Results. Which reference ranges do you use? Reference ranges are sets of values used to interpret your test results. A reference range is the range that 95% of the normal population falls within and is determined by collecting data from vast numbers of laboratory tests. Reference ranges vary from laboratory to laboratory, and depend on which specific equipment was used to assess your sample. The reference ranges included in your report are specific to the laboratory and equipment used to assess your specific sample. Will you explain what my results mean? Yes, your test results are reviewed by qualified medical professionals who will provide interpretation of your results to help you understand what they mean, as well as any recommended next steps. Collecting your sample

Do I need to fast before my test? For some of our blood tests you will need to fast. Please follow the test instructions at the bottom of the relevant health check page before collecting your sample. Can I exercise before my blood test? Some blood test results (e.g. creatine kinase) may be imapcted by strenuous exercise, therefore it's important to follow the test instructions at the bottom of the relevant health check page. Do I need to stop taking my medications or supplements before my blood test? Not generally. If this is required it will be specified in the test instructions at the bottom of the relevant health check page, but feel free to contact us if you're unsure. Can I visit a collection centre rather than collecting my own sample? We use a collection centre in Wimpole St in London that accepts walk-ins for blood collection - contact us for more information.

What happens next?

How often should I repeat my test? How long you should wait before repepating your test will vary depending on your results. Our doctor will provide a recommendation in your health report on when to take your next test. If you experience any symptoms or feel unwell in between tests then you should contact your GP. If you have any changes to your health circumstances please contact us for testing advice. And don't forget to keep your health profile up to date! Can you prescribe medication based on my results? No, diagnosis and treatment of a potential condition should be provided by your GP or usual health practitioner. Can I share my test results with my GP? Certainly. We encourage you to share your blood test results with your GP, and you can print a copy of your health report for this purpose. Feel free to contact us if you would like a copy of your laboratory report emailed to you. Will my GP ask me to repeat the tests? Possibly. Your samples are assessed by the same laboratories that your GP uses, however your GP may want to conduct additional blood tests to confirm your results weren't due to an anomaly such as dehydration.
